Narrative Novel Help!?

For school we are making narrative novels and i need help i have no clue what to do! We are publishing these or making them into things, mine is going to be a audio book any ideas or advice for a book? (e.g. characters/setting) plus its aimed at people about hmm... tweens or little kiddies :)
