Selling Virgin Mobile phone...do i need to deactivate?

Im selling my virgin mobile phone, its been deactiavted for a while, like off in my drawer for like 4 months, and I dont recall it being used for a complete month before my brother gave it to me, can I just give it to someone or do I have to do anything special? Its a pay as you go phone so the account shouldnt be locked when someone tries to put a number on it, right?
