Should i buy a new phone or try to fix it?

I jumped in a pool with my phone. I did the rice thing. It only turns on when its on charge, and the backlight is completely broken. I don't even know where to get it fixed and if i even can. My mom want me to get a new one, but wont pay over 100....i want my iphone T______T
